This hand made sterling silver pendant is inspired by the culture of the Aztec people. It honors the medicine of the cockatoo, and is embedded with a carved amber peyote and peridot stone.

The cockatoo represents the energy of fire as they were believed to be responsible for bringing fire to humans in some creation stories. They are also believed to accompany the deceased in the afterlife and are thought to deeply understand the nature of life and death and are revered by indigenous people for their role in landscape regeneration and the rebirth of plants.

They have a high intelligence and are considered very social beings. The cockatoo is good medicine for communication and those who want to sing and communicate clearly what they have in their heart.

Peyote is a word that comes from the Nahuatl language and translates to "shiny heart". It is a cactus that is sacred to various tribes in the Americas and used to commune with the Great Spirit, to empower the people, and to heal all types of spiritual, mental, emotional, and physical ailments.

This pendant is intricately crafted by an artisan based in Mexico in collaboration with Anahuac Arts.

Chain not included.
