This hand made sterling silver pendant is inspired by the culture of the Aztec people. It honors the medicine of the hawk, and is embedded with a carved sodalite peyote and red jasper stone.
The macaws were seen as representatives of the sun gods and a symbol of sacred union. They were revered by tribes as their feathers were used in important tribal rituals. To the Aztecs, macaws were a central part to their creation myths even the Ancient God of life. They are a water bird that loves the waters including the waterfalls and rivers.
This pendant is intricately crafted by an artisan based in Mexico in collaboration with Anahuac Arts.
