Mother Earth Peyote Pendant
Mother Earth Peyote Pendant
This hand made sterling silver pendant is inspired by the Aztec symbol for mother earth, or Coatlique, and is embedded with a carved amber peyote and green agate stone.
Coatlicue was a major diety in the Aztec pantheon and regarded as the earth-mother goddess and depicted with her skirt of serpents. She symbolized the antiquity of earth worship, as both the creator and destroyer of earth and the mother of both gods and mortals.
Peyote is a word that comes from the Nahuatl language and translates to "shiny heart". It is a cactus that is sacred to various tribes in the Americas and used to commune with the Great Spirit, to empower the people, and to heal all types of spiritual, mental, emotional, and physical ailments.
This pendant is intricately crafted by an artisan based in Mexico in collaboration with Anahuac Arts.
